Changing your BenQ PE7700 projector lamp can be done without unnecessary surprises or problems. Just follow our guide.

Step 1: Be prepared with the correct lamp

When BenQ PE7700 projector lamp is reaching end of life, you’ll see a warning message on screen. The lamp light on the projector panel will also light up red. Be sure to change the BenQ 59.J0C01.CG1 projector lamp immediately.

Step 2: Replacing the BenQ 59.J0C01.CG1 projector lamp

IMPORTANT NOTE: The BenQ PE7700 projector operates at an extremely high temperature. Let the projector cool for a least 45 minutes before replacing the BenQ 59.J0C01.CG1 projector lamp. The projector should be cool to the touch. Don’t rush it or you may end up with a nasty burn.

1. Turn the power off and disconnect the BenQ PE7700 projector from all power sources.
2. The BenQ PE7700 projector lamp door is on the left side. You may need to lift it up slightly to loosen the screws and remove the lamp cover.

5. Don’t touch the inside of the BenQ PE7700 projector after the lamp is removed. The optical components are very sensitive and even the slightest movement can cause unevenness and distortion of the projected images.
NOTE: The BenQ 59.J0C01.CG1 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps

7. Tighten the screws on the lamp cage.
8. Reinstall the lamp cover. Tighten the side screw holding the lamp cover in place. Don’t over tighten the screws otherwise the lamp may not work properly.
9. Turn the power on and wait for the projector to warm up.
10. Reset the Lamp Timer.

Step 3: Reset the Lamp Timer

Never reset the lamp timer if the lamp has not been replaced as this could cause damage to your projector. Always reset the lamp time after changing the BenQ 59.J0C01.CG1 projector lamp so the BenQ PE7700 projector can accurately track end of life for the lamp.
To replace the lamp timer:

  • Press the MENU/EXIT button to turn the onscreen menu on.
  • Using the left or right arrow buttons scroll to SETUP. Press SOURCE ENTER.
  • Scroll to LAMP. Press SOURCE ENTER.
  • Scroll down to RESET LAMP TIMER. Press SOURCE ENTER.
  • The lamp timer will be reset to zero.

Make your newly installed BenQ 59.J0C01.CG1 lamp life last longer with the following tips:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Use the Lamp Power option on the BenQ PE7700 projector and set to Economic Mode to reduce the amount of power used but extend lamp life.
